The lack of ethnic minorities in senior positions has always been a concern. However, Green Park’s research has found that over the past year, the number of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) leaders in Chair, CEO & CFO positions across the FTSE100 have reduced by 18%. This is why this list has been produced. We want to recognise BAME leaders, celebrate their achievements and go out to the rest of the UK and show that the talent and role models are out there.
BAME professionals from an ethnic background still face a number of challenges and barriers in and out of the workplace.
RESEARCH BY OUR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE DRIVE FOUND THAT OUT OF A SAMPLE OF OVER 1,000 SENIOR BAME WORKERS, 82% SAID THAT THERE IS STILL INSTITUTIONAL PREJUDICE AGAINST MINORITIES AT WORK. OVER 20% HAVE PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED IT IN THE LAST THREE YEARS.
We know that diversity and inclusion has been a priority over a number of years, with it taking a front seat in the public domain now, thanks to the recently published Race Disparity Audit. We want to break down these barriers and start reflecting on the positive efforts being made.

The BAME100 was launched on Monday the 23rd of Of October 2017 at the Barbican’s Basquiat, Boom for Real exhibition. Across the year, Green Park (an executive search firm) encounters many diverse leaders through our client, candidate and research processes.
The current pools of senior diverse leaders we track sit at around: 640 BAME: 300 Women; 525 LGBT+ and 115 Disability (incl mental health). These leaders standardly sit at the Global Head + level and span across the Private, Public and Third sectors.
In order to establish the shortlist for our Board Talent Index from these pools, we apply a soft scoring method based on the criteria we believe separates our REALmodels from other diverse leaders. These criteria focus on influencing positive change and development in business and are each graded out of 25.
R = Recognised: accredited for the good that they do
E = Extraordinary: not just achieved but excelled in their efforts
A = Authentic: known for being true to their undisputed origin
L = Leading: climbed the ladder of their organisations and achieved success
Once the REALmodel leaders are identified, the judges ratify the shortlists based on their own insights, the individual’s credibility and the profiles presented and the final indexes are confirmed. Each shortlist usually contains around 115-135 profiles.

Clive Adams is originally from South Africa. He became Chief of the over 150-year-old Salvation Army’s UK & Ireland operations alongside his wife in 2013. Between them, they are responsible for more than 800 Salvation Army churches and social work centres, as well as thousands of officers, members, employees, and volunteers.

Victor Adebowale is the Chief Executive Officer of Turning Point, a social enterprise providing health and social care interventions to 77,000 people. He sits as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of NHS England, the Co-Operative Group, Collaborate CIC, IOCOM and Leadership In Mind, he is also the Chair of Social Enterprise UK. Victor has chaired a number of commission reports into; policing, employment, mental health, housing and fairness (The London Fairness Commission) for the Met Police, as well as central & local government. He was awarded a CBE for services to the unemployed and homeless people and became a crossbench peer in 2001. He is a visiting Professor and Chancellor at the University of Lincoln. He is an honorary member of the Institute of Psychiatry and President of The International Association of Philosophy and Psychiatry, he is also a Governor at The London School of Economics. Ismail Ahmed is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of WorldRemit, the leading digital money transfer company that’s pioneering a mobile approach to sending money around the world. Ismail founded the company in 2010. Since then, it has secured almost $200 million in funding and has been named the fastest growing technology company in the UK. Serving previously as a compliance advisor to the United Nations, Ismail founded the company on the principles of strong compliance procedures, recognising that the only way to meaningfully reduce the risks in the money transfer industry was to bring the entire process into the digital world. Ismail has been named one of the top ten most influential black Britons in the UK and won EY Entrepreneur of the Year, London and South. Originally from Somaliland, he has worked with the UN in Nairobi and Dubai. He received a scholarship to attend the University of London and has a business degree from London Business School and a PhD in Economics.

Vidhya Alakeson was appointed the Chief Executive of The Power to Change in January 2015. She was formerly the Deputy Chief Executive at independent think tank the Resolution Foundation, and was also the mental health lead for the personal health budgets delivery programme at NHS England. Vidhya worked at the US Department of Health and Human Services in Washington D.C. from 2006-2010 and previously worked at the UK Treasury and the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit.

Sonita Alleyne has been a Board member of the London Legacy Development Corporation since April 2012. She is also on the Board of the British Board of Film Classification and the Cultural Capital Fund.
Previous Board roles include the BBC Trust, National Employment Panel and the London Skills and Employment Board, Chair of the Radio Sector Skills Council and Non-Executive director of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and membership of the Court of Governors at the University of the Arts London.
Sonita Alleyne is the founder of The Yes Programme, a unique online film based service that helps primary school pupils make career decisions by giving them an insight into how classroom skills translate to the real world. In 1991 she founded UK production company, Somethin’ Else and led it as Chief Executive from 1991 until 2009.
Brought up in East London. Sonita won the Carlton Multicultural Achievement Award for TV and Radio in 2002 and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of the Arts and the Radio Academy. Sonita was awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting in November 2003.

He is the Chief Executive of Silvergate Media, which purchased two of the media rights previously held by Chorion Ltd, where Alli was former Chairman and was appointed to the House of Lords in 1998.

Shanika Amarasekara is General Counsel and Company Secretary to the British Business Bank. The British Business Bank is the UK Government Development bank set up to facilitate access to finance for small and medium sized businesses. She joined as a founder member of the Senior Management Team which set up and launched the bank in 2014. Prior to this, she worked as General Counsel at an institution established by a number of central banks to promote financial stability and economic development. Shanika previously held senior positions at RBS and Allen & Overy.

Valerie Amos joined as Director of SOAS University of London in September 2015. From 2010, she served as Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator at the UN. She served in a number of roles in the public sector including in local government and as Chief Executive of the Equal Opportunities Commission. Valerie was an adviser to the Mandela Government on leadership, change, management and strategy issues between 1994 and 1998. She was appointed a Labour Life Peer in 1997 and became a member of the Government in 1998. She was a Foreign Office Minister, Secretary of State for International Development, Leader of the House of Lords and Lord President of the Council. She also served as UK High Commissioner to Australia before joining the UN. In June 2016, she was made a Companion of Honour in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Manvinder ‘Vindi’ Singh Banga is the Senior Independent Director of GSK PLC as well as Marks and Spencer’s and was a Non-Executive Director of Thomson Reuters.
He is a Partner at Clayton Dubilier & Rice LLP and currently Chairman of Kalle GMBH and till recently Chairman of Mauser GMBH. He is on the Board of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and a member of the U.K India CEO Forum.
Previously he was President of the Global Foods, Home and Personal Care businesses at Unilever PLC and a member of the Unilever Executive Board. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian awards and was on the Prime Minister of India’s Council of Trade & Industry from 2004 to 2014.

Nina Bhatia, MD of Centrica Connected Home, is responsible for the Hive brand, the UK’s leading provider of innovative, customer focussed, smart home products and services. Previously, as Commercial Director for British Gas, she had accountability for Connected Home and led brand marketing, product development, digital and insight. She also led British Gas’s national home services businesses, with over 1500 field engineers, including the Dyno-Rod franchise.
Prior to joining Centrica in 2010, Nina was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, working in retail, media, energy, healthcare and government sectors. Nina is on the Advisory Board of the Cambridge Judge Business School and has served as a Trustee on the Board of Save the Children International. She holds a double first class degree in Law from Cambridge University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Karen Blackett OBE
Karen Blackett is a proven business leader with a track record in creating vibrant cultures, energising teams and consistently delivering business growth and success. She has been in media for 24 years and is currently Chairwoman of MediaCom, the largest media agency in the UK with billings over £1.3 billion. Karen has been instrumental not only in the success of MediaCom, but in championing diversity throughout the advertising industry. In 2012 Karen launched the first ever Government backed Apprentice Scheme for the sector, where the apprentices qualify for an NVQ in Marketing and Communications. In June 2014, Karen received an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours and in 2015 Karen was the first business woman to be named Britain’s Most Influential Black person in the Power List. In 2015 Karen was appointed as one of 4 external advisors to the UK Government Civil Service, and as a Department for International Trade Business Ambassador for No 10. Karen is on The Board of Creative England whose focus is to support new and emerging talent in the Creative Industry, and is also a Council Member of the Creative Industries Federation. In March 2016 Karen became the President of NABS, the advertising industry charity which focuses on health and wellbeing in the workplace and presents the business case for Diversity. In October 2017, Karen takes over from Sandi Toksvig as Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth.

Zamila Bunglawala is a Deputy Director of the Race Disparity Unit, Cabinet Office. Through her extensive national and international policy, strategy and programmes experience in senior roles – including No.10 Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, Cabinet Office, Whitehall departments, Open Society Foundation, Young Foundation, Brookings Institution, United Nations in Darfur, Sudan and Kathmandu, Nepal – Zamila has led a wide range of policy and program projects, specialising in education and employment, gender, SGBV, ethnic and faith minority groups, humanitarian conflicts and development. She is widely published and is an international public policy speaker on gender and minority equality issues and appears regularly in print media and TV. She is on the Board of UNESCO-UK, Concern Worldwide and an Honorary Fellow of the University of Manchester and The Young Foundation.
Dr Margaret Casely-Hayford
Margaret Casely-Hayford was appointed Chancellor of Coventry University in May 2017. She has been a trustee and Chair of international development Charity ActionAid UK since 2014 and was elected to the Board of the Co-op as a member nominated Non-Executive in May 2016. She is a trustee of the Radcliffe Trust, one of Britain’s oldest charities which supports the development of skills in classical music and traditional arts and crafts; and has been asked by CILIP (formerly the Libraries Association) to chair a diversity review of the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Awards.
Margaret was a lawyer for over thirty years and her portfolio in the past included during 2012-2016 being a Government appointed Non-Executive Director of NHS England, the organisation that has responsibility for the £115bn budget for commissioning of the health service in England; and she was also a government appointed trustee of Great Ormond St Children’s Hospital Charity from 2000 to 2008 and of the Geffrye Museum over the same period; and has been a member of the Development Board of the Young Vic Theatre.
For nine years until July 2014 she was Director of Legal Services for the John Lewis Partnership. She worked for twenty years previously with City law firm Dentons where she was Partner.
Julie Chakraverty is most recently founder of Rungway, the new app to give and get workplace advice which is launching into leading companies. She spent most of her career at Board level in UBS in roles such as Global Head of E-Trading and Global Head of Portfolio Analytics and now serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Standard Life Aberdeen. Previously she has been SID, Chairman of Risk, Remuneration and Innovation Committees across a number of Boards, including Aberdeen Asset Management, Spirit Pub Company, and Mitsui Amlin. Her flagship CreditDelta portfolio product at UBS won multiple industry awards. She is also a Trustee for the Girls Day School Trust.

Anit Chandarana is the Finance Director for the Infrastructure Projects division of Network Rail. Anit has recently taken on the responsibility for the Quality Assurance and Systems Development teams within Infrastructure Projects. His key roles include owning and driving the finance standards and policies of the Business Unit (£5Bn). In addition to his responsibilities for IP, Anit also runs the company wide senior finance talent pool programme. Anit is a qualified accountant who joined NR in 2003 after completing his training at Sainsbury’s followed by a further five years at Shell. During his time at NR, he has worked in most Business Units and gained a wide ranging experience of the organisation and industry. From 2005 to 2007, he took a break from NR to run a food supply business which grew to a £2 million gross turnover.

Sophie Chandauka is an award winning international corporate finance lawyer. She is Executive Director and CAO of Morgan Stanley’s Legal & Compliance Division in EMEA. Prior to this, Sophie was a Senior Associate at global firm Baker & McKenzie in London, advising clients such as NIKE, The Body Shop, Macquarie Bank and others. She is also one of the founders of the Black British Business Awards. Sophie has served on the Board of Trustees of Sentebale and Protimos.

Amee Chande was one of the first international leaders to join Alibaba Group in September 2015. In her first year, Amee began building the UK office as the hub for Alibaba Group in Europe, building a team and leveraging her global leadership experience with large retailers and established brands to bring the best of the Alibaba ecosystem to businesses and consumers in the region. Today, as part of the international leadership team, she is helping shape the globalisation strategy of Alibaba Group.
Prior to joining Alibaba, Amee served as Managing Director of NutriCentre, a health and wellness subsidiary of Tesco, from 2013 to 2015. She previously spent four years with Staples, most recently as Managing Director of the UK business. Before joining Staples, Amee held a number of senior roles at Wal-Mart where she was the company’s youngest officer. She began her career as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company where she spent eight years working with a broad range of retail and consumer goods companies.
Amee is active in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, where she serves as a Global Board Member and chairs the Fund Development Committee. She also serves as an advisor to Living Bridge, an award winning Private Equity Firm.

Youngsuk ‘YS’ Chi is an international businessman and a leader in the media and technology industry, and currently serves Elsevier and RELX Group in several different capacities. In his primary role as Director of Corporate Affairs and Asia Strategy for RELX Group, he is responsible for government affairs, corporate communications, and corporate responsibility for RELX. As Non-Executive Chairman of Elsevier, he works directly with governments, Elsevier customers, and in industry associations worldwide.
Chi recently served as Chairman of the Association of American Publishers and has also concluded four years of service as the President of the International Publishers Association. Chi has also served on dozens of charitable, educational and industry Boards, including Princeton University, South Federal State University, the Korean American Community Foundation and McCarter Theatre.

Prior to this he was CEO of Seatwave, a European online ticketing exchange, which he successfully sold to Ticketmaster. Before this, he was Founder and CEO of ComQi, a New York based global retail technology company before which he co-founded IDGVE, a $100m European venture capital fund and was Founder Investor and Chairman of Shazam. Before this he was CEO of LineOne which grew into one of the UK’s largest portals and ISP’s. Ajay has an MBA from Wharton and serves on the Board of the Historic Royal Palaces and FairFX, prior to which he served on the Boards of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and Arts Council London.

Soumen Das is CFO at SEGRO PLC, the FTSE100 Real Estate Investment Trust. Previous to this, Soumen was MD & CFO of Capital & Counties Properties PLC where he joined the Board in 2010 at the age of 33, upon its demerger from Intu PLC. Earlier in his career, Soumen spent two years as a partner in Mountgrange Investment Management LLP (now Clearbell Capital) and 9 years at UBS where he was an Executive Director within the investment bank specialising in real estate.
Chief Executive Officer, A-Plant
Sat Dhaiwal is Chief Executive Officer of A-Plant and a director of its parent company Ashtead Group PLC, a FTSE-100 organisation. At 16, he secured an apprenticeship with a tool hire company and trained as a small plant fitter. Three years later, he rose to become Branch Manager and then Divisional Manager overseeing four locations.
Aged 23, he joined A-Plant as a Depot Manager and went on to become the company’s youngest Operations Director at the age of 25. He was subsequently appointed Managing Director of one of four regions in 1998. Sat’s region became the best performing in the company. Sat was appointed Chief Executive Officer of A-Plant and a Director of Ashtead Group PLC in 2002 at the age of 33. For his achievements, he was awarded the IoD Cheshire Young Director of the Year in 2006 and Cheshire Director of the Year in 2011.

Magnus Djaba has led the transformation of Saatchi & Saatchi London for the last 6 years, expanding the services offered to clients and ensuring focus on creativity and business results. During this time, the agency has grown by 50%, won numerous creative and effectiveness awards and welcomed new clients such as EE, HSBC, Direct Line and Asda. He was formerly the MD at the start-up Fallon London, one of the UK’s most awarded and best-known creative agencies, famous for ground breaking campaigns for Cadbury, Skoda and Sony.
Magnus was appointed UK CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi in November 2011 and promoted to CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon UK Group in April 2014. He is involved in starting up successful and innovative businesses with a global reach. Althea Efunshile is the Chair of the National College for Creative Industries. She is also a Non-Executive Director of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and a Council Member of Goldsmiths College, University of London. Until October 2016 she was Deputy Chief Executive of Arts Council England. Prior to that she spent six years as a Director level civil servant in the Department for Education and Skills. Until 2001 she was Executive Director for Education and Culture at the London Borough of Lewisham. Althea was awarded a CBE for services to arts and culture in June 2016.
Kene Ejikeme is co-head of the EMEA Equities Execution Sales-Trading and Execution trading businesses. He is also responsible for the Global Institutional business in Europe. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2004 as an analyst in the Listed Derivatives business, where he worked for three years before moving to the Global Institutional business to cover global equity hedge funds across products. Kene was named managing director in 2013.
Prior to joining the firm, Kene was a professional rugby player. Kene studied civil engineering at Imperial College London, where he earned an MEng in 2004.
Gary Elden OBE

Gary Elden was appointed Chief Executive Officer of SThree on January 2013 after being appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in June 2012. He first joined the Group in 1990 as a recruitment consultant for Computer Futures and progressed to a number of senior positions, including Founder and Managing Director of Huxley. He was appointed to the Board in 2008 and in his role as Chief Strategy Officer of SThree, he was responsible for expanding the Group’s international operations and non-ICT disciplines. Today the Group is present in 15 countries and across 10 brands delivering specialist recruitment solutions. In 2016, Gary was presented with an OBE in recognition for his service to Diversity in Business and his commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment where diverse opinions and perspectives are valued. Kevin Fenton has 20+ years executive leadership and research experience in public health medicine and epidemiology. He was previously National Director of Health & Wellbeing, Public Health England and Director of the U.S. National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He also served as Chief of the U.S. CDC’s National Syphilis Elimination Effort and has worked in research, epidemiology, and the prevention of both infectious and chronic diseases since 1995. Previously he was the Director of the HIV and STI Department at the United Kingdom’s Health Protection Agency.

She started with the company in the Personal Lines division and swiftly worked her way up the ladder before taking on the position of Director at Direct Line for Business, the commercial insurance arm of Direct Line. She is currently the driving force behind new propositions that will help transform the way customers buy small business insurance.

Catherine Gan is currently Chief Financial Officer and Board Director at Low Carbon Contracts Company, implementing government energy schemes. Catherine previously worked in infrastructure and financial services sectors for over 20 years, including Prudential, Barclays Bank, and EDF Energy. Having had extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions, strategy development and change delivery, her career has excelled in challenging and changing environments. Born and educated in China, Catherine started her career in the UK as the first overseas graduate trainee with Prudential (Life Insurance). Throughout her career Catherine has championed and promoted individuals, often from disadvantaged backgrounds, through mentorship programmes.

Colleen Harris is a communications professional who has spent 30 years developing and managing communications strategies for Government Ministers, the UK Royal Family and multilateral organisations. Colleen was Press Secretary to HRH The Prince of Wales and a Senior Press Officer to the former PM, Baroness Thatcher. She has worked as a Communications Consultant at the WHO and the UN. Colleen was Director of Communications at the Commission for Racial Equality and Director of Strategy and Communications at the Equality Commission. Colleen works as with clients ranging from Hedge Funds and corporates to charities and small organisations. She also works as a Senior Independent Assessor on Government panels. She serves on not-for-profit Boards the YMCA (Central), Dulwich Picture Gallery and is a Member of Cancer Research. Bushra Nasir was a secondary headteacher with 20 years’ experience at Plashet School in the London Borough of Newham before retiring in December 2012. She was the first Muslim female headteacher of a secondary school in the UK. Mrs Nasir is Co-Author of a book called ‘Breaking Stereotypes’, which aims to provide positive role models for ethnic minority young people. In 2009, she was named in the top 10 list of Muslim women in the ‘Muslim Power’ list produced by the Equality and Human Rights Commission and published in The Times. Bushra is a Board Member of HRH The Prince of Wales’s Mosaic initiative, and a Council Member of Queen Mary, University of London.

Mee Ling Ng has over 20 years’ charity sector experience at RNIB and Outset, and 30 years’ experience in the voluntary and private sectors.
The first Chinese woman councillor elected in Britain, Mee Ling has been Deputy Leader, Chair of Social Services Committee, Non-Executive Chair of Southwark Primary Care Trust, Non-Executive Director of two NHS mental health trusts and member of the Department of Health Working Group.
Mee Ling co-founded the National Federation of Chinese Women’s Groups, Chinese in Britain Forum, Chinese Welfare Trust, Chinese for Labour and Lewisham Anti-Apartheid.
She received an OBE in 2007 for services to the Chinese community and as Trustee of Chinese Welfare Trust. She would like to develop an extra care home for Chinese elders in London. Mee Ling Ng was appointed to Habinteg’s Board in 2011. She is a member of the Homes and Services Committee. Mee Ling is also currently a Non-Executive Board member of Transport for London and London South Bank University Board.

Nelson Ogunshakin is currently the President and CEO of Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE). He Co-Chaired the National Infrastructure Plan Strategic Engagement Forum (NIPEF) and was appointed by the GLA as a member of the London Infrastructure Delivery Board. He chairs the Investment Committee of ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investment Funds (PE) and has over 30 years’ experience in planning, finance, delivery and management of major property and infrastructure investment projects.
Nelson has a BSc in Civil Engineering from Aston, MSc in Construction and Programme Management from Birmingham and a MBA in Strategic Management & Corporate Finance from Aston, where he is also Royal Academy of Engineer Visiting Professor on Infrastructure Investment. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers, Companion of Chartered Institute of Management CEDR Accredited Mediator and Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrations.

Sandie Okoro, a British national, was appointed Senior Vice-President and General Counsel for the World Bank Group in February 2017. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, she had been a General Counsel of HSBC Global Asset Management and Deputy General Counsel of HSBC Retail Banking and Wealth Management since 2014, prior to which she was Global General Counsel at Barings. Sandie qualified first as a barrister and then re-qualified and trained as a solicitor. In July 2014, Sandie was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Law by City University London in recognition of her career in business and law, and her voluntary work.
Sandie has received several accolades in the United Kingdom and Europe for her work and volunteer efforts. Sandie is named in the Powerlist 2015 as the fourth most influential black person in Britain. Sandie received the 2014 Chambers Europe Award for Excellence in the category for Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession. In March 2014, she was named by the Guardian Newspaper as one of 10 women who are changing the face of the City. She was named in the Autumn 2015 edition of Brummell Magazine, as one of the top Inspirational Women in the City who are Champions of Diversity. In May 2016 Sandie was named by City AM as one of the Power 100 Women, and in June 2016 she was named in position number 30, as one of the Financial Times’s Upstanding 100 Leading Ethnic Minority Executives. Most recently, in July 2016, Sandie was named as one of the 100 Women to Watch by the Female FTSE Board 2016, and in November 2016, she received a lifetime achievement award from the UK’s Black Solicitors’ Network.
A leader in her field, Sandie was appointed in July 2011 to the Management Board and the Panel of Experts of The Hague-based Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance (P.R.I.M.E.), which assists with the settlement of international disputes on complex financial transactions. She played a leadership role during the financial crisis particularly in respect to the mitigation of counterparty risk exposure. In late 2013, Sandie became a council member of the Human Rights organization, JUSTICE. From 2010 to 2016, Sandie was ambassador for the Law Society of England and Wales Diversity Access Scheme. From January to June 2014, Sandie was President of International Lawyers of Africa (ILFA), having previously been an ILFA Director for many years.
In November 2014, Sandie was appointed to the Board and elected as a Governor of the Royal Shakespeare Company. During 2016, Sandie was also on the Equality Standards Panel of the Premier League. On July 18, 2017, Sandie was made an Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple.

Shriti Vadera is Chairman of Santander UK, Senior Independent Director of BHP Billiton and a Non-Executive Director of AstraZeneca. She is currently chairing the European Financial Services Chairmen’s Advisory Committee - a group of 15 Chairman and Chief Executive Officers from the UK based financial services industry set up to act as a sounding Board on Brexit.
Prior to joining Santander in 2015 she advised the G20 from 2009 to 2010 and advised governments, banks and investors on the Eurozone crisis, banking sector, debt restructuring and markets from 2010 to 2014. She was a Minister in the UK Government from 2007 to 2009, in the Cabinet Office, the Business Department and the International Development Department. She led the UK Government’s response to the financial crisis and was a key architect of its pioneering bank recapitalisation plan in October 2008. Payal Vasudeva is a Managing Director in Strategy at Accenture. She leads the Talent and Organisation (T&O) practice in UK and Ireland, and is part of the global T&O Strategy leadership team. She joined Accenture 17 years ago, with the majority of her experience in Financial Services. She is also the Accenture UKI Human Capital and Diversity Lead responsible for enabling the employee value proposition and talent strategy for Accenture’s own business. She has been recognised externally in 2017 as Top 50 Female Champions of Women in Business by HERoes and the FT, Top 100 influential BAME leaders by EMpower and FT, as well as featuring in the Top 10 Global Diversity list for 2015 and 2016. Simon Woolley is one of the Founders and Chief Executive Officer of Operation Black Vote, a non-partisan and not-for-profit national organisation that was established in 1996 to tackle race inequality by encouraging Black and minority ethnic communities to demand greater race equality by greater political and civic engagement. He is former Commissioner for Race on the Equality and Human Rights, A Commissioner for the Children’ commission panel looking at excluded children, and sits on two Open Society Boards, including Global Drugs Policy Project and the Roma Initiative Office, and is a Board member of Police Now. He has recently been award Honorary Doctorate from Westminster University for his work on equality and Human Rights. Woolley is one of the key authors of the ground breaking report: The Colour of Power.
