Metro Play

Green Park was engaged by DMG Media (Daily Mail Group) to secure two digital non-executive directors for their newly developed online gaming business, Metro Play.

As part of the trusted Metro Media brand, Metro Play has more than 300 web- and mobile-based casino games, offering a simple, social and innovative way to enjoy online gambling. Metro Play required two senior digital executives that would provide them with insight into the global marketplace and customer habits, as well as acting as an advisory board to the senior executives.

Green Park underwent a briefing and clarification process to ensure we understood the exact requirements for this role. In-house research teams then commenced a global search, mapping out the retail, pureplay, general merchandise and online leisure businesses to build a market map of the industry.

Green Park shortlisted, conducted further assessment and referenced a number of candidates who met the brief, to review and evaluate a final set of criteria including: board-level experience at a European e-gaming company, experience and detailed knowledge of the requirements of a UK-white-listed regulated e-gaming environment, a track record of developing strategic initiatives that drive significant business growth and leadership skills and ability to understand complex strategic issues and resolve difficult challenges.

Green Park closed the assignment with two NEDs. The previous chief executive of major e-commerce giftshop,, and the previous chief operating officer of Betclick and Vice President of Online Gaming at Laundry’s.
