The Interim Assignment
The successful Interim Head of ICT Operations will lead a team of circa 70/80 employees driving forward change and new ways of working in a truly customer focused environment. You will lead on all operational matters relating to IT across the Council and will be accountable for a budget of £4 million whilst influencing the expenditure of budgets of up to £10million within the council. Additionally you will be responsible for managing an Information and Technology operational service and the delivery of the Council’s information systems, core infrastructure, technical service and service desk functions. Providing visible leadership and robust management to shape and deliver a well-regarded and trusted service capable of providing highly available, well maintained and cost-effective set of information and technology services. You will be expected to champion a customer-focused, innovative and a collaborative culture that stimulates and enables the provision of fit for purpose solutions that are reliable, high performing and deliver the required business benefits.
The Interim Manager
The successful Interim Head of ICT Operations will be dynamic and possess management experience of setting up, running, motivating and inspiring large teams, tackling under-performance through service turnaround. This is a challenging role and requires someone to refresh the operations of IT covering core infrastructure, service desk functions and IT back office applications. You will also possess substantial experience of managing technical teams in a public sector / local authority environment covering the following areas: Technologies: Datacentre storage – SAN and back-up Servers VMWare Citrix Networks – Local and Wide Area (MPLS) VOIP End Point devices – PCs, thin clients and smartphones etc Support of Active Directory SQL or Oracle Database Service expertise: Ist, 2nd and 3RD line Service Desk Desktop support Network and Data Centre Applications – Commercial Off the Shelf e.g. ERP /Oracle
Our client, a leading NHS Foundation Trust, are looking to appoint an Interim Associate Director of Operations for the Women and Children’s division for 3 - 4 months.
The interim Associate Director of Operations for Women and Children’s Division will be reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for the general management of the women’s and children’s division including a high number of community beds. Due to the current structure employed by the Trust, the successful candidate will need to be financially astute as they will have complete devolved control of the budget totaling £60 million and will be tasked with finding savings of c.£2 million. Additionally, they will need to be able to contribute to the upskilling of the current resources in the team and maintain the current detailed turnaround programme.
Applicants should have experience of managing a women and children’s division within an Acute/ Foundation Trust environment and will have worked in an organisation going through a transformation programme.
