Retail & Consumer
The turbulent economic climate continues to destabilize the Retail sector and the significant changes that we have witnessed over the last few years continue to send shockwaves through our consumer businesses.
Across the industry, retailers are having to regularly re-examine their proposition, pricing costs and supply chain in order to remain competitive, with change and transformation featuring highly on Board agendas.
Consequently, we are seeing new trends emerging; new strategies to address the changing dynamics of the UK retail & consumer sector; more innovative ways of working to capture customers in an increasingly competitive sector; and ultimately a new breed of leaders that are equipped with broad commercial skill sets, increasingly customer centric focus and the vigour required to bring fresh thinking to a world that has been somewhat paralysed by economic turbulence and the emergence of the ‘super-sophisticated’ consumer.
Major challenges like these require expert assistance and at Green Park, we’ve been recognised for exactly that. In fact, Retail Week recognised our company as one of the top 10 head-hunters in the market, and we’ve also been proud sponsors of the Retail Week Power 100.
Green Park is at the vanguard of identifying, supporting and fostering the ongoing development of this future talent. As the digital revolution and globalisation have both impacted our clients and how they operate, so our own work has had to evolve. In recognising the transiency of new world talent, Green Park has undertaken extensive research to investigate and scrutinise the current and future people development strategies of retail and consumer clients; in addition to our consultancy with Boards and our executive resourcing services, we have also published several thought leadership pieces relating to Omnichannel Development and Emerging Markets.
Our networks and the quality of our relationships are what underpin all of the above, we believe that time invested in understanding our clients and candidates is time spent wisely. Green Park hosts a quarterly Retail Leaders’ Dinner, which is attended by Chairs, CEOs and executive retail professionals across a variety of categories and channels, ownership and operating models. It is through such events and the sharing of experience, knowledge and ideas we believe we are able to add further value and insight to our commercial relationships.
